Support the Permanent Repeal of the Global Gag Rule
One of the Trump-Pence administration’s first actions when taking office in January 2017 was to impose and vastly expand the Global Gag Rule.
This policy requires foreign nongovernmental organizations to choose between receiving U.S. global health assistance and providing comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care. It endangers the health and lives of women and girls in communities around the world by cutting off funding and supplies to some of the most trusted and experienced health care providers. It interferes with relationships between providers and their clients and stifles advocacy efforts to expand access to sexual and reproductive health care.
Congress can and must permanently end the Global Gag Rule by passing the Global Health, Empowerment and Rights Act.
